Carne Guisada!!! So good!! One taco is enough for 2 people!!!

Quaint, but usually has a big crowd. This makes sense considering the food is good enough for word of mouth to travel outside of Texas. Sadly, the building itself needs renovation and the cheap placemats and the interior decor are akin to nursery school for adults.Someone needs to play Monopoly so they can learn about the benefits of remodeling.

Excellent food and service at a great price. All day breakfast menu is a great option too!

I tried this restaurant for the first time. I guess you had to be a local or understand how they did things to fully appreciate how it works. Perhaps the food was more truly Mexican that I'm used to but when the fajitas came out in large hunks of meat and the tortillas were made of corn I was a little surprised. I requested flour tortillas and they brought one huge one and charged extra for it.Since the restaurant was quite busy and everyone else seemed to be comfortable with the process I'm guessing it's just me. And, for me it's about three stars.

Large size tacos and Mexican food you can't go wrong.

I wanted to give it zero stars, but yelp didn’t let me. The restaurant smells like a sewage. The food tastes like sewage. Don’t get meat. Go to a different place.

Came over after a run over the causeway. Quaint little place and super busy. Did wait a bit for service buuut it was prompt and quick. Coffee was a tad bit strong/ according to my mother burned, but it tasted fine to me. Small menu, usual breakfast stuff. My daughter loved the beans. Hash browns were good but apparently better with ketchup. Who knew? My pancake was rich. A little toasted but it had this creamy buttermilk taste and not just a watered down flapjack. Bacon was crispy how I like it but I do feel like could've done with a bigger serving. But maybe I'm just extra hungry and picky? Right before the bridge and ample parking. Downside, only one restroom. So keep that in mind. I forgot and had lots of water. I think if I find myself in the area, I might swing by again. But maybe for lunch to check it out.

Biggest tacos in Port Isabelle. Would of got a 5 star if they had barbacoa and menudo.

The place is in a nice location. Parking is a little small. The service is good! But the quality of the food I feel can be a little better. The inside of the reasturant is very comforting. Prices are decent. I would go all the time but it's nice to go occasionally.

Good mexican food. Take out during Covid This was the delux meal with enchiladas,rice beans,carne asada, 4 picadillo tostadas with chips and salsa for about $14.

El Mexiquito restaurant was our first stop for Breakfast. Wonderful food and great service. They're are so many dishes to choose from that, no matter what you eat, it's gonna taste great. Another place to visit in Port Isabel.

I am rating only a 3 star because of the high price. Being a Mexican restaurant, the price should not be expensive. The food is a 5 star thought.

I order a breakfast sandwich to go and they did very well on time, a little on the high price. Service is good. Clean place, friendly environment. Open early.

Recently tried this restaurant on a family members suggestion, my husband and I were on vacation and decided why not. We heard the tacos were HUGE so I ordered a bacon and egg, my husband order the potato and egg we were able to spilt the tacos so we had a bit of each. We still couldn't finish them it was just so much food. They were very delicious, and very inexpensive definitely recommend trying this place.

the Nachos were dang good. The enchiladas mexicanas were bland in my opinion. If you want nachos I would recommend this place for sure. Pics attached

They didn’t use any kind of chemical to wipe down the table right after someone else was sitting there, not a good feeling with the corona pandemic but I was very hungry

Good Mexican food with courteous service

The food is great as well as the prices. My only complaint is the wait time. It took over 30 minutes before we were served our food. The poor waitress kept telling us that our food would be coming out soon.

Known for Authentic Mexican Breakfasts and known for having a full house! Jam packed cafe during the mornings... Thats because this place is worth the wait! Delicious Mexican breakfasts and massive, over-sized, delicious flour tortillas! Not sure what to get, get a morning taco from here... Its big enough for two! The dish its served on can barely contain the taco!

Great Food Ok service

Amazing place to eat. Small charming feel and giant portions at great price. On vacation here but plan to eat here daily until I go home. Highly recommend

This is nice, low key, Mexican food restaurant. Get there early because they close at 3pm. I love their fried fish and shrimp. They owner relates that they catch their own gulf shrimp. You can order Mexican sodas to enjoy their complimentary chips and salsa.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in PI. Clean and great food. Daily specials are cost friendly with a family environment.

First time visit and I'm already hooked. My wife Had a shrimp and fish combination plate. The shrimp Definitely had an unduplicated fresh wild caught flavor. Fresh ingredients and very friendly staff. See you soon!

One of the Best Mexican breakfast. Food takes longer to be served because it’s all makes from scratch. Big portions are served. You must try the homemade flour tortillas. It is super big and delicious. The chilaquiles were little bit spicy but so delicious. When you come to South Padre Island, you must force a stop at Port Isabel to eat here. I read comments about the American breakfast served here. We didn’t order any of that so I can not provide feedback on that price. If you are looking for genuine Mexican food for a great price come here. If you want American food, you may want to look somewhere else. There is only 1 restroom for both men/ women and it’s clean also. I would definitely come back.

My family loved the absolutely fresh and delicious tacos and pancakes! The moon sized tortillas were beyond amazing. The service was so good. We are going back tomorrow. My kiddos talked about how good it was all day. And they are so picky! Great experience food and service....I highly recommend
